To travel thousands of kilometers. From the Caribbean to Europe, and be praised in Barcelona, in Sant Pere de Rihcs, a Caribbean corner. It is really surprising, to go into the Ronison, see the tropical setting (in the middle of winter), heat the blood flow, much more if the music does not leave your feet undisturbed and the glasses force you to enjoy this environment of the Antilles.
On this occasion Horizontal project is honored to hang on the walls of the Ronison an art directly from the studios of Cuban artists, and bring here part of an exhibition that will tour for three months some of the galleries of Barcelona.
It is important to note that these pieces are not simple paintings to decorate. Everything has been produced manually by its artists, from the racks, the fabrics and at the end the work; an image captured and interpreted by the pupil of each creator, to impose on the work this Caribbean fire of color and light, and integrate it into this land that has so much to do with Cuba.
An old bolero mentions in his lyrics "... They say that distance is oblivion ...], but I do not particularly share the phrase, because Cuba is rooted in these lands from the beginning, and despite the distance, we have lived for centuries under a common sky, and in each of our houses we have a corner that reminds us of those who are there to Spain and those from here to Cuba.
